Job overview
To participate in the provision of a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient. As a Quality Manager you will perform a full range of decontamination duties.
You will manage Decontamination records in own area of work and provide a high quality and timely service to all customers.
As the Quality Manager you will also work in accordance with the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems and will provide supervision to Decontamination Technicians within the team.
Plan your own workload with minimal supervision.
The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids
Main duties of the job
To direct the reprocessing of reusable medical devices: Disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, checking, assembly, sterilisation, dispatch and tracking in a controlled environment. Supervise, organise and allocate work and / or train less experienced / qualified staff. Meet the demands of the Departments workload whilst consistently achieving high quality standards which will be measured by in-process checks and non-conformance reports.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sterile Services Unit, University Hospital of Wales for a HSDU/SSU Quality Manager. The role will predominantly be equipment management, so experience in servicing and validation is desirable.
The SSU is responsible for servicing multiple surgical specialities for elective surgery.
The SSU is governed by a quality management system in line with ISO 13485:2016. Knowledge/experience of a QMS and how this works is desirable. The operations manager will be responsible for the test schedule, equipment downtimes, validation, documentation, calibration, environmental monitoring, water analysis, and microbiological testing.
