We are looking for a motivated and conscientious person to work within the Claims Team working with a newly-formed team delivering Welsh Government’s Nosocomial Covid-19 Incident Management Framework. You will be working alongside a number of specialist staff from varied clinical and non-clinical backgrounds.
Main duties of the job
The programme of work needs to be delivered within 2 years, so we are depending on your ability to work efficiently and with high attention to detail. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will be put to the test when dealing with distressed families/legal colleagues and third party stakeholders to ensure claims are brought to completion on behalf of the Health Board. You will also be required to provide legal advice to colleagues within the Health Board, where needed, on complex cases.

This post is secondment term for 24 months to meet the needs of the service.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in law (CILEX Qualifications), or equivalent claims management, redress and inquest experience.
- Knowledge of Civil Procedures Rules, Coronial Regulations and NHS Redress Regulations.
- Understanding of the Health Service.
- Root Cause Analysis Investigative processes.
- Experience of working in Clinical Negligence/Personal Injury/Redress/Inquest.
- Experience of working in a busy environment, working to tight timescales and deadlines.
- Experience of working in Health Service.
- Delivery of educational and training programmes to all levels of staff.
