You will be a key member of the mass vaccination centre team, responsible for the control and management of the Covid-19 vaccine and related medicines required to deliver the requirements of the mass vaccination programme.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable person with excellent interpersonal and IT skills to join the team as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant technical Officer working across the 4 mass vaccination centres.
The post requires a high degree of competence and accuracy as you will be the responsible person on each site to supervise the storage and preparation of Covid -19 vaccines.
You will also be responsible for developing colleagues and supervising the supply of vaccine to the immunising teams working within the mass vaccination centres as well as remotely across the whole Health Board. You will also be responsible for recording vaccine levels on appropriate IT systems.
Candidates will have previous experience at working at a high level and be able to balance competing priorities effectively. Essential attributes for this post include being reliable, organised, self-motivated and having the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will need to be able to work in a logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions. You should have good keyboard skills, be computer literate and have a willingness to learn as training will be provided on bespoke systems. Previous experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage but not essential.
